The College of Engineering & Technology, Bhubaneswar, (CETB), is a college of engineering in Bhubaneswar, India. Established as College of Engineering & Technology of Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in 1981, CET Bhubaneswar is now a constituent college of Biju Patnaik University Of Technology (BPUT), Orissa. The campus covers 100-acre (0.40 km²). The old campus is still functioning, as the architecture department.

Academic structure

The college provides B.Tech. degree in ten disciplines of engineering: namely Civil, Mechanical, Biotechnology, Electrical, Computer Science, Information Technology, Instrumentation and Electronics, Textile, Fashion and a 5-year B.Arch. degree. It offers a 3-year MCA, a 2-year M.Tech. course in Structural Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology and a 3-year B.Tech degree for Diploma Holders as lateral entries.

Each academic year consists of two semesters and a summer term. The education system is organised around a credit system, which ensures continuous evaluation of a student's performance and provides flexibility to choose courses to suit the student's ability or convenience. Each course is assigned credits depending upon the class contact hours.

Events

XTASY is the college's cultural extravaganza, held annually in January.
PERCEPTIONS is the annual technical meet.
ZAIRZA is the official technical society and is initiated by its students.ZAIRZA was born in the year 2005-2006 with Software and Manual robotics as the two main wings, but it was made official in the year 2007 by the college Administration with addition of Automated robotics (Which is one main wing now) by Sruti Ranjan Sahoo, Pranab Shankar Nayak and Siva Satyendra Sahoo, also Software Trainings (which is another main wing) by Ronak Kumar Samantray. ZAIRZA committee organises PERCEPTIONS (The Annual Technical Festival of CET) in college. This club is very popular in terms of technologies and a path finder for this kind of initiative in other engineering colleges in Orissa. This is fully manged by students. Pramit Das(Batch 2003-2007), Amrit Swain(Batch 2003-2007),Sruti Ranjan Sahoo (Batch 2004-2008), Ronak Kumar SamantaRay(Batch 2004-2008),Gyanendu Rout(Batch 2005-2009),Sachin Kumar Rout(Batch 2006-2010),Priya Ranjan Swain(2007-2011) were the key students for the club to reach its current success.

Wings of ZAIRZA:

Robotix - Manual Robotix, Automated Robotix, Circuit Designing.

Operating System - UNIX, LINUX, Advanced Programing, Networking.

Designing - CAD, Animation, Advanced Web Page Designing.

Lectures - Paper Presentations by some good faculties.

Cetadel is the literary societies event, providing events in quizzing, writing, jamming, and debating. Cetadel is also responsible for the publication of the annual college magazine The Engineering Herald.

Cetadel units are:

Blahsphemy [from blasphemy and blah, a nonsense word] (debates, JAMs, mock turncoats, extempores, GDs, and open houses)
TimbuQtu [from Timbuktu and Q, symbolizing a question] (quizzing, dumb charades, antakshari)
Adinfinitum [from ad infinitum] (jingle making, advertisement making, poster making, anti-publicity, product packaging)
WordsWorth [from poet William Wordsworth's name and a combination of the words "words" and "worth"] (writing, book review, spin the yarn, storytelling)

The college also organizes the Engineers Cup Inter-college cricket tournament in December–January, and an annual athletics meet.

It has its own rock band Irish Chants which performs across the state.
